Pretty weak episode surprisingly, i guess the rest of the season being batshit crazy each time really makes you notice when it's more quiet, the dish Akiyama made was nice looking but was pretty boring compared to what he made before, the highlight of the episode being the scars on his back i guess, hope we go back to crazyness next ep.

Jan worried more about Kiriko's hand getting bruised after punching him than the injury that he got in the face 'cause of that. Jan silenced Sawada and his theatrics with a simple yet most delicious dish ❤️ Ohtani never gets tired of being the sore loser and the fool in Akiyama's play xD Kiriko saw Jan's scars on his back and it was funny how he tried to hide the back from her instead of his front 😅🤣 He might take cooking as nothing more than a competition to win but he takes pride in the dedication and efforts that he put into his cooking and the scars that he got from his Grandfather defines them.

高級な食材を使っていても、澤田の料理は結局のところ中身より見せ方だった。ソルトベイのような雰囲気だ。 ジャンは楽に勝ったし、目隠しで試食するという提案も良い案だった。えこひいきを考えれば、個人的には最初からそうすべきだったと思う。 桐子はジャンに声をかける場所と時間を間違えている。そもそも風呂場に入ったことはさておき、彼に取り乱したのは不適切以上のものだった。この手のお約束は面白くもなり得るが、ここでは彼女に傷跡を見せるための口実にしか感じられなかった。 ジャンの祖父が極端に暴力的な指導者だったことは分かっているが、あの傷跡はひどい。それでもジャンは、祖父の「厳しい愛」が自分を今の料理人に鍛え上げた証として、それを受け止めているようだ。

Despite using high quality ingredients, Sawada's cooking was ultimately still style over substance. Salt bae vibes. Jan beat him easily and the suggestion to do the tasting blindfolded was a good idea. Considering the bias they should've done so in the beginning imo. Kiriko chose a weird place and time to approach Jan. Aside from her entering the shower in the first place, her freaking out on him was more than inappropiate. The trope can be funny, yet here it merely felt like an excuse for her to see the scars. We know Jan's granpa was an extremely abusive instructor, but these scars are vile. Jan still seems to appreciate them as a reminder for how his grandpa's "tough love" whipped him…
